Family Weekend 2023

UMass Boston invites you and your student to Family Weekend from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22. This three day celebration will feature a variety of free and low cost events that are fun for the whole family. Click here for full list of events!

Show your Beacon Pride by wearing UMB apparel and colors. Upload your photos on Instagram with #UMBFamilyWeekend and tag @NewBeacons to have your adventures featured on our story.

Signature Events include:

  • Brunch with Bobby (Free) - Join our mascot “Bobby the Beacon” for food, photos, and fun the whole family will love,
  • Haunted Boston Tour ($10.00 per person) - Explore Boston’s spooky past in a 90-minute private walking tour around the city,
  • Family Fall Fest (Free) - Participate in various games and crafts while enjoying some fall treats and celebrating the season,
  • Family Ice Skating (Free) - Enjoy an afternoon of open skating with your student on the campus ice rink,
  • Sporting Events - Cheer on our UMass Boston Women's Soccer and Men's Ice Hockey teams with your student,
  • Indigenous Boston Harbor Tour (Free) - Take a tour of the Boston Harbor and Islands with a walking tour of Deer Island.

In addition to our scheduled events, limited quantities of tickets to the Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, and Franklin Park Zoo will be available to purchase at discounted rates after registering for Family Weekend.
